Pineapple Flip Top Box

Pineapple Flip Top Box-JMRush

W 4" X  H 5.25” X D 1.5” (H 9" including stem)

The Pineapple Flip Top Box has a top that is attached to the box base on one side and a tab closure on the other side. This file is great for party favors or to use as a centerpiece for your summer parties.  This design is compatible with 8x12 or 12X12 mats.

You can purchase this design here: https://www.silhouettedesignstore.com/artists/485222

1.Cut design pieces. ( I used double sided card stock) ( There is a small rectangular piece that is missing from the images of the beginning of this tutorial)
2. Line up the box base sections as the picture shows. Fold the tab on the right side section and apply glue to the tabs backside.
3. Secure the tab to the left box base section. ( You want the tab to be on the inside of your box) Fold the score lines on the right side of the box base.
4. Apply glue to the small side tabs- one on the top and one on the bottom ( where my thumb and finger are in the picture)
5. Secure to the rectangular tab shapes creating 90 degree angles.
6. Fold the score lines on the left side of the box base.
7. Apply glue to the backside of the tabs closest to the center- one on the top and one on the bottom.
8. Secure to the center strip.
9. Apply glue to the bottom of the 90 degree angle on the right bottom section. Secure the rectangular flap on the left side, lining up the edges.
10. This is what it should look like:)
11. Repeat for the upper 90 degree section on the right side.
12. This is what it should look like. Apply glue to the bottom section where the small tab intersects. Secure the tab and repeat for the other side.
13. Apply glue to the entire end and secure the side flap aligning the edges.
14. Repeat for the other side.
15. Your box is now complete:) Tuck the closure tab into the slot in the bottom section to close.

16. Picture of the pineapple box.
17. Glue the two largest pineapple pieces (solid) to the front of your box.
18. Glue the next largest double grouping.
19. Glue the third largest double grouping got the box base. Secure the smallest pineapple design to the second largest- centering it and aligning the edges.
20. Use foam adhesive squares to attach the small combined section to the box base aligning the edges.
21. Curve your stem leaves as you like.
22. Apply glue to the backside of the bottom most leaf on the left of one of the leaf groupings.
23. Connect the leaf on the other side aligning the leaf shapes. This creates a circular funnel shape.
24. This is what it should look like:)
25. Repeat for all 3 stem leaf sections.
26. Roll the tab on the largest leaf group in toward the center ( to make it a bit smaller.) Tuck the rolled tab of the largest leaf grouping through the center of the medium sized leaf grouping.
27. Roll the tab on the medium sized leaf grouping and tuck both the large and medium tabs through the center of the smallest leaf grouping.
28. Tuck all three tabs into the slot on the top of your pineapple box.
29. Apply glue to the backsides of your tabs on the inside of the box.
30. Position your leaf groupings as you like adjusting the height of each section. Secure the tabs to the top of the box.

31. Apply glue to the back of the rectangle top piece. (This is the design piece that was not shown in the beginning of this tutorial).
32. Place the glued side of the rectangle piece down into the top inside of the box lid to cover the leaf tabs.
33. I used pieces of foam adhesive squares to join the leaf sections together and give them additional support.
