This five sided birdcage file contains a hanging lovebird perch and two lovebirds with heart cutout wings. This design is compatible with both 8X12 and 12X12 mats.

You can purchase this design here: https://www.silhouettedesignstore.com/artists/485222

  1. Cut design pieces. ( I used double sided card stock)
  2. Line up the three birdcage panels (pretty side up). Apply glue to the long vertical side tab on the center birdcage panel and on the long vertical side tab on the single birdcage panel.
  3. Glue each long vertical side tab to the the birdcage panel to the left. Tabs go underneath and mining up the straight edge at the bottom.
  4. Fold the score lines after the side tabs have dried.
  5. Glue the two small circular hanger to each side of the large circular hanger base that has the perch and birds on it.
  6. Make sure the stems of these piece remain separate.
  7.  Glue the lovebirds to the coordinating shapes on each side of the combined circular hanger base.
  8. Flip the lantern base (pretty side down). Glue one of the stems of the combined circular hanger to the top of the third from the left birdcage panel. (The other stem will be glued inside the lantern later).
  9. Apply glue to the bottom of the last long side tab on the right of the birdcage panels and secure to the other birdcage panel. This creates a closed pentagon shape.
  10.  This is what it should look like.
  11. Applying glue to one top tab at a time, begin to secure the top tabs to the inside of the next angled triangle.
  12. Picture of glueing the last triangle.
  13.  This is what it should look like.
  14.  Glue the other circular hanger tab to the top inside of the birdcage.
  15. Picture of the circular hanger tabs glued.
  16.  Fold the score line on the birdcage base.
  17. Apply glue to the small tabs and secure to the insides of the rectangle to the left.
  18.  This is what it will look like.
  19.  Place the lantern top in it’s base.
  20.  Finish with a ribbon.
